We’re Bryan and Jennie Enloe—the duo behind the Hideaway Speakeasy in the Minnesota State Fair’s Upper Grandstand. Between the two of us, we have more than 35 years of experience in the food service and special events industry. Bryan grew up in the mobile food concessions business traveling to fairs and festivals throughout the United States. Jennie jumped in head first following their 2011 wedding, helping Bryan run his pizza business that plays fairs and events throughout the Midwest and down-country as far as Rio Grande Valley, Texas. We joke that the food concessions business is much like the mob—once you get sucked in, it’s tough to get out! So, we took that silly sentiment and translated into the idea for a 1920s prohibition-era speakeasy restaurant that would serve fresh, shareable food, craft beer and Minnesota wine. And what better place to open it than our home State Fair—The Great Minnesota Get-Together!
New — Hideaway Sunset
Think of a Tequila Sunrise cocktail in the form of a beer. Orange, grenadine, a bit of sour and a hint of tequila flavor (without actual tequila) – raise a glass in a sunset toast! 6% ABV. 10 IBUs. Brewed in Roseville, Minn., by Bent Brewstillery.
New — Naughty Shirley
A wildly refreshing twist on a childhood favorite, this grown-up version of the Shirley Temple has a hint of vodka flavor (without actual vodka), made with wine from Cannon River Winery. It evokes cheerful memories and feels like a party in a cup. 7% ABV. Wine made in Cannon Falls, Minn., by Cannon River Winery.
